1. Wrong size Golf Gloves

This is one of the most common errors, especially for beginners in golf. Golf gloves that are too wide can cause the hand to slip inside, making holding the bat uncertain, affecting the accuracy of the shot. On the contrary, gloves that are too tight can cause pain, obstruct blood circulation, and make your hands tired quickly.

Remediation:

  • Step 1: Measure your hand size and refer to the size guide of the glove brand of your choice, as sizes may vary between brands.
  • Step 2: Try the gloves directly to make sure they fit, hold them tightly, but not too tight, still ensure comfort to avoid discomfort when moving.

2. Not interested in the material of golf gloves

Currently, the three most used materials for golf gloves are natural leather, synthetic leather or fabric. Many golfers do not notice this factor and choose the wrong type of gloves that do not match the play style or weather conditions.

Remediation:

  • Step 1: First you need to understand the pros and cons of golf glove materials.

  • Step 2: From the table above, select the golf glove material that matches your style of play or playing conditions (dry, wet or change frequently)
  • If you prioritize feeling and performance: Choose natural leather gloves.
  • If you need durability and regular play: Choose synthetic leather gloves.
  • If you need comfort in hot weather: Choose fabric gloves.
  • Step 3: Read the material information on the packaging carefully and select from reputable brands to ensure the correct type of gloves is selected.

3. Ignore the feeling of holding a stick

Many people choose golf gloves only because of the beautiful brand or design without regard to the actual feeling of holding a bat. A glove that doesn't give a good feeling will reduce confidence and accuracy in hitting.

How to overcome: When trying golf gloves, hold the bat and do some swing moves to check the feeling. Make sure that gloves help you hold the bat firmly but remain comfortable, without hindering the natural movement of your hands.

4. Failure to change golf gloves in time

Continuing to use old gloves that have worn, torn or lost grip is another common error. This can result in hand injury due to friction or deterioration of the quality of the hit.   Remediation:

  • Check gloves regularly, especially in areas that are easily worn out such as the palms of the hands and fingers.
  • Replace gloves as soon as you notice signs of damage or loss of grip.
  • Have at least 1-2 pairs of spare gloves ready for replacement when necessary.

5. Prioritize price over quality

Many new golfers often choose low-cost golf gloves to save money. However, these gloves often do not guarantee quality and quickly deteriorate.

A glove that costs more but is durable and offers good performance will be a better investment.

Remediation:

  • Investing in long-term, durable, high-performing golf gloves.
  • Gloves should be considered as an investment for play performance rather than just looking at the price.

6. Do not check durability and quality

Choose golf gloves without checking durability or quality such as sewing lines, lining, waterproof ability, etc. can lead to unwanted experiences on the golf course. Gloves can be torn quickly, lose grip or are not waterproof and reduce competition performance. Remediation:

  • Carefully check the seams, lining and waterproofing before purchasing.
  • Choose golf gloves from prestigious brands and avoid those that are too cheap without guaranteeing quality.
